Digipak First Draft

Friday 2 December 2016

Digi Pak- The other panels

In this panel I decided to add three of the photos from the london shoot. This is because they all have a very similar red, dark look to them. The artist appears like a silhouette as the features are hard to see, this is a feature that makes it obvious that it is not a pop artist as these tend to show clear images of the artist, making them the main focus point of the album. Whereas in these images you would focus more on the colours and theme.
This image will be the back of the CD panel. I faded this picture so it was that bright. I also changed the colour, so I added pink and blue tones to make it fit the theme better. This photo is also dark so that the artist cannot be seen well, continuing with the theme of the digipak.
I made this photo more contrasted so that it was more defined. This made the shadows darker

Our chosen song

We have decided to choose Wet's song- Its all in vain. We like this song as it has a slow pace but has a change of tempo in the chorus, it also has lyrics with a clear meaning so, as a group we thought it would be the best song to make a video for.

DigiPak- Tracklisting

This is the tracklist for the Digipak. I used a photo form the London photo-shoot again, as I feel using the other ones for this would not match the front cover, as these are the two panels you would see when you first look at the Digipak. I continued with the white font as a contrast colour, but I used a different font this time as I feel the other fit would look too crowded and it is also our logo so would not fit in the track listing. I decided to put the titles horizontal with dashes between them as I feel it fitted better with the composition of the picture. If the writing went vertical it would be hard to read over the lights in the picture. I again, turned up the brightness and added a slight red tone over the picture to continue with the theme. I then added  barcode and the record company's logo at the bottom of the track listing, I made them slightly faint so that they didn't stand out and the main focus on the page is the song titles. I also then typed in a short copyright information at the bottom which I got inspiration from other albums on what to write.

Digi Pak front cover

This the finished front cover of the Digipak. I used one of the photos from the London shoot and, using photoshop, I turned up the brightness on the photo so that it was more clear. I also enhanced the colour red by using the colour board, this made it appear more neon and began to build a theme for the Digipak. I then added the name of the artist, which is also the name of the album, as it is a self titled album. We used the logo of the band which is the font we found from Dafont.com. I made it white so that it stood out and was clear to see against the dark picture.
